# Staff & Coaches

Your players only improve as fast as your staff lets them.

### Why hire staff

Every coach on your staff gives you extra **focus points** for training, so your whole squad develops faster. New clubs start with no staff, so hiring your first coach is one of the best early moves.

### The nine positions

One of each:

| Position          | Helps                         |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------- |
| Head Coach        | Field players and goalkeepers |
| Assistant Coach   | Field players and goalkeepers |
| Goalkeeping Coach | Goalkeepers                   |
| Defense Coach     | Field players and goalkeepers |
| Midfield Coach    | Field players                 |
| Attack Coach      | Field players                 |
| Fitness Coach     | Field players and goalkeepers |
| Team Doctor       | Squad care                    |
| Masseur           | Squad care                    |

### Common or Premium

Open **Team → Staff**, click **Hire Staff** on any vacant position and choose a tier:

* **Common** (about $1 in $GOAL): a coach with random ability and experience.
* **Premium** (about $3 in $GOAL): guaranteed **Good** ability or better, and **Professional** experience or higher.

Prices are set in dollars and paid in $GOAL at the current rate. Confirm in your wallet and your coach arrives in a **staff pack**: open it to see who you got.

### Ability and experience

Every coach shows their **ability** and **experience** in stars. The more stars, the more they add to your training.

> **Tip:** fill every position. Each coach adds to every training week, so the sooner you hire, the more it pays off.
